Chester Zoo’s EV Revolution: Setting the Standard for Sustainable Travel at Zoos

The results speak for themselves, over 16,650 batteries have been charged at Chester already, saving an estimated 95,700 kg of CO₂ emissions. 

But Chester Zoo didn’t stop there. To further reduce its environmental footprint, the zoo has integrated solar panels into its operations, generating renewable energy to help power its facilities, including its EV chargers. By producing clean energy on-site, the zoo reduces its reliance on the grid and ensures that visitors can charge their cars in the most sustainable way possible. This initiative highlights how zoos and adventure parks can go beyond conservation efforts to actively support low-carbon travel.
